Gordon Laird, 2006 Book Award Winner

Gordon's Laird's past work has been featured on CBC Radio & Television, The Huffington Post, the BBC, CNN, National Public Radio, Scientific American, Maclean’s, the Calgary Herald, the Edmonton Journal, The Globe and Mail, Mother Jones, The Toronto Star and The Walrus. He has also published three non-fiction books. His winning Greber Award submission Price of a Bargain, was ultimately published in four languages. He has also won several National Magazine awards.

Laird is a former Media Fellow for the Sheldon Chumir Foundation for Ethics in Leadership, which resulted in the 2007 publication of Shelter, a six-year study of housing, poverty and homelessness that has since been toured across Canada. In 2008, Laird was shortlisted for the Atkinson Fellowship, Canada's most prestigious journalism award.
